FAQ

eSIM is a digital SIM card that’s already inside your device. It helps you connect to mobile networks without needing a physical card. You can easily switch between networks and plans right from your device.

1. You don’t have to wait in line at a phone company booth to get a physical SIM card.
2. Customer support from local operators is often in the local language, which can be challenging for tourists to communicate with and may not effectively resolve issues.
3. You won’t have to switch SIM cards constantly just to get important notifications like bank alerts.

The eSIM card is available for purchase on the website as well as at Globalcell offices and distributors worldwide.

Most likely! eSIM functionality is supported in over 150 countries and regions.

If you’re planning a trip, it’s best to install your eSIM before you leave home. This can be done the day before departure using either your home carrier’s network or a Wi-Fi connection. Otherwise, upon arrival at your destination, you’ll need to locate a Wi-Fi network, which might not always be convenient.

To install the eSIM, you’ll either download the settings using a QR code or enter them manually. Activation will occur once you reach your destination and the SIM card connects to the local carrier.

Once you purchase, we send the eSIM QR code almost instantly after payment. It typically takes about 5 minutes to activate the eSIM. Here’s what you need to do for a smooth setup:

  1. Connect to a stable Internet source, like Wi-Fi at home or in a hotel.
  2. Scan the QR code using the device you’ll use while traveling.
  3. Follow the setup steps on your device.

If you can’t scan the QR code (for instance, if it’s on the same device you’re setting up), you can manually copy and paste the settings, which usually takes the same amount of time.

The validity period of your eSIM begins when you first connect to the internet upon arriving in the destination country for which you purchased the package. Simply downloading the eSIM settings isn’t considered activation, but it does save time once you reach your destination. Activation itself takes about 5 minutes, but you’ll need to connect to a Wi-Fi network. If you download the eSIM settings in advance, you can start using it as soon as you arrive at your destination.

Accepted payment methods include international cards such as VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and UnionPay.

Topping up your eSIM is simple. It’s similar to the purchase process, but instead of getting a new eSIM, we add the package to your current active eSIM. Remember, each package has its own remaining traffic and validity period, so they don’t combine.

Each QR code is a unique identifier that can only be used on one device. It cannot be reused on another device or the same device after the eSIM profile has been deleted.

We team up with local mobile companies that cover a wide area, so your internet stays steady through our local partners.

Unused traffic in Just eSIM data packages is only valid for the specified term and data volume purchased. Once the validity period expires, any remaining traffic is canceled.

All current devices support eSIM. If you’re unsure, just send us your phone model through our online chat, and we’ll check for you.

Absolutely! You can share your traffic with other devices without any limitations. This is particularly useful when sharing with a laptop or a device that doesn’t support eSIM.

  6. Under the Default Line page, select your eSIM for cellular data only.
  7. Your new eSIM will now be visible below your Cellular Data or Mobile Data Plans.
